CROSO Leadership Announcement

Written by Molly MacCready, CROSO’s Executive Director

Dear CROSO Community,

I’m writing to share some exciting news! After a lot of thoughtful consideration, I will be leaving CROSO at the end of September. I know this will be a big change, but after 16 years of leading CROSO I feel confident this is the right moment for this change and a great opportunity for growth - both for CROSO as an organization and for me personally.

The CROSO Board, Richard Mutambuli (CROSO’s Program Coordinator based in Uganda), and I have been engaged in deliberative discussions and planning about this since February. Our goal is to have a new Executive Director start in September, allowing for a smooth transition.

Part of what makes this the right moment is that CROSO as an organization is in a great place. The Board of Directors has strong leadership (Amy Petersen transitioned from vice-president to president in January), and the Board continues to grow in healthy ways. By the time this transition will take place, Richard Mutambuli will have been in his role as Program Coordinator for over a year and he already has well-established relationships with our current CROSO Scholars. The Board and I have full confidence that he will continue to provide excellent support to the scholars, ensuring that there are no gaps in their scholarship experience.

As you know, I am passionate about this mission and that won’t change. I look forward to seeing and supporting the next steps in CROSO’s growth. I will continue to be a CROSO donor, and I certainly hope you will too! (We have been so grateful for your consistent support in our monthly giving program!)

If you have any questions or want to share feedback, please feel welcome to contact:

We will also be hosting a Zoom panel discussion with the three of us (Amy, Richard and me) on Friday, July 14th at 8am where we hope to share more details about the transition, our vision for the future, and field any questions the larger CROSO community may have. We hope you can join us for this special Coffee with CROSO event

Thanks,
Molly MacCready
CROSO’s Founder and Executive Director
