Since we are such a small nonprofit, we depend heavily on the generosity and dedication of our volunteers. Whether you're interested in a long-term volunteer commitment or just want to spend a few hours of time, we would love your help! Join the CROSO Board of Directors
Each year, we accept applications for new board members. As a small nonprofit, our board of directors is a working board and actively helps us to achieve our mission. Board members are expected to contribute substantially to our work through committee involvement and terms are 3 years (renewable). When we are actively accepting applications, we will share more information here.

Join CROSO’s Young Professional Board
CROSO has a small YP Board that is still trying to get off the ground. We are seeking 5-10 passionate, self-starters in their 20s to add strength to our group. YP Board Members will gain exposure to many different aspects of nonprofit work, and will have the opportunity to network with the larger CROSO Board of Directors.
CROSO’s YP Board will be responsible for planning and hosting our CROSO Bar Nights in Chicago and will meet 6-8 times per year. Host (or help plan) a Fundraiser
As CROSO continues to provide more scholarships, we need to be reaching more new donors too. With only one staff person, we rely on our supporters to help us in spreading the word about CROSO and helping to introduce us to their networks. If you'd be willing to host or be part of a small planning team for a fundraiser, please let us know! Common fundraisers are private house parties or public events (bar night, bowling event, Zumbathon, etc). When possible, our executive director or a board member will attend the event to share more information about CROSO. If you're interested in this, please complete the form below.
Become a CROSO Liaison
Each of our CROSO Scholars are paired with an American liaison who serves as a mentor and point of contact for our scholars. Liaisons and scholars are each expected to write emails once per month. Our experience has been that these monthly emails can lead to really authentic relationships. Our scholars appreciate having the support and someone who checks in on it and we as an organization use this communication as an accountability measure - ensuring our scholars' needs are being met, and it's also a great opportunity to learn more about our scholars and their experiences! One Time Volunteer Opportunities
We have several volunteer opportunities that would only require a few hours of time. For our events, we can always use additional volunteers to help at our registration tables, selling raffle tickets, etc. Throughout the year, volunteer opportunities such as helping with a mailing or putting together materials for upcoming presentations would be a great help.
